She jumped off the Empire State Building,
No one knew exactly why...
She dressed up in her Sunday best,
Knowing that she would die...
86 stories down she fell,
Onto the roof of a car--
Her body preserved by sad angels
Without a visible scar...
She was but 23, and newly engaged--
Her life seemed set so fair;
Yet she chose to take the fatal plunge,
Seemingly without a care...
Her death-photo still haunts us all,
We shake our heads, ask ourselves "Why?"
No doubt she wondered why, herself
As she plummeted from on high...

Did anyone noticed she is barefoot?(barefeet/barefooted?)
Did she lost her shoes during her fall? Did she took them of before she jumped? Did someone stole them for her?

I have heard that women who break up with their friend they dressed on there best, just to show: "Look at me for the last time, this is what you going to loose..." But I never knew that of suiciders....
I had an uncle jumping to his dead from a 6 store builiding, and an aquintence who did the same from 20 high building. ...And I know how its feels to be suicidal, wanting to step out. Its not you want to die, it that you want to end a horrible situation in you life... And you lack the strength or courage to face it.... DON'T JUDGE UNTIL YOU KNOW ALL THE FACTS, ALL THE EMOTIONS, ALL WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE HER DEATH...
I think, on the notice of her body being prestine, the car "cushioned" her fall, much like the cardboard boxes "rigs" stuntmen use, where they land on after a high jump. IF she had landed on the sidewalk, there would be no picture, because she would be a mangled bloody pulp. You wouldn't want to see that...
